North of Pittsburgh, along Route 19 lies the small borough of Portersville. Though the town is less than one square mile, there are several quaint shops and attractions for visitors to enjoy. The Portersville Steam Show is held each May, August and October, showcasing the local interest in steam engines. The main attraction to the Portersville region is Moraine State Park and its beautiful lake, where more than a million outdoor enthusiasts travel each year.

Prospect is a small community of approximately 1200 residents located in Butler County just a few minutes from beautiful Moraine State Park. It is home to the "Big Butler Fair" which is located along State Route 422 in Prospect.

It is located only 7 miles from I-79 and is within easy reach to such areas as Pittsburgh, Erie, and the PA Turnpike. The borough is located in the Slippery Rock School District, with Moraine Elementary School on our Main Street. Some of the local organizations include the Boy Scouts, Woman's Club, Prospect/Portersville Rotary, and a local Chapter of the American Legion. The town recenlty celebrated their 175th year. They have an annual Community Day complete with parade during Memorial Day weekend.
